How do I find out if the income from any of my properties is taxable as 'income from house property?'

​In order to determine whether an income earned from a property would be taxable under 'Income from House Property', you need to ask yourself these 3 questions:
​1. Is the income arising from a building or land attached to a building?
​2. Were you the owner when the income was earned?
​3. Was the property used for purpose other than business or profession?
If the answer to all these questions is "YES" then such income would be taxed as  'Income from House Property'​
