I do not own the property on which my house is built. The house, however, is registered in my name. Will I still be considered the owner, and will the rent from such property be taxed in my name?

Yes. 

The owner of the building need not also be the legal owner of the land on which it is situated for the purpose of Income Tax Act.

Even if you are the beneficial owner and eligible to collect the revenue from this house property, you will be considered as owner of the property for the purpose of Income Tax . Accordingly, income from such property is taxable in your hands.
